Texture: The texture is chewy but not tough due to the precise cooking process. The head tends to be softer, while the tentacles are more chewy. The baby octopus has been removed from the eyes and teeth, so it's ready to eat.
Serving: It's usually served cold. In Japanese restaurants, this dish is often given natural red food coloring to make it more appealing and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
